Barton Peveril: Teenager arrested after knife scare sparks lockdown

A 17-year-old boy from Botley has been arrested on suspicion of affray and causing a disturbance on educational premises. 

It relates to a lockdown at Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh following reports of a knife inside.

Armed police were deployed to the scene at around 2.20pm last Thursday but no weapon was found. 

Three boys suffered minor injuries after being assaulted by a group of five to six boys who had entered the grounds. 

The 17-year-old boy remains in custody at this time.
