Ways to Get Involved | Inquest
Since 1981, families, friends and supporters have always been central to INQUEST’s way of working. Whether you’d like to take part in the oral history project, donate a poster to the archive, or share a story about your involvement with INQUEST, we are actively seeking public participation in Unlocking the Truth for 40 Years.
- Families and supporters are invited to participate in one of our monthly family-focused 40 Years sessions (see listings below)
- We are also looking for family members to help plan and run these 40 Years sessions
- Oral History training and interviewing for the project (oral history training has taken place, but get in touch if you’re interested in being interviewed)
- Share your experiences, memories and thoughts about INQUEST through our 40 Years response form
- Archive training and volunteering
- Contribute materials to the archive
If you would like to volunteer on the project, put yourself forward to be interviewed or donate something to the archive, please fill out this short enquiry form. For any other enquiries, email [email protected]
Upcoming Events
We are in the process of programming for the next year so please note that the events and booking information will be regularly updated
Alongside a public programme of events, we are running monthly family get-togethers. These have been designed to create space and time for reflecting, creating and thinking in response to INQUEST’s history and the impact of state death and campaigning on families. A regular space to communicate about the 40 Years project, these events are flexible to ensure that families’ input and feedback shapes future events and other outputs of unlocking the truth for 40 Years. These events are for bereaved families that have worked with INQUEST at any point over the past 40 years.
Divided into three themes – History, Inspiration and Hope – we hope that these sessions will help us to explore and understand the ways that families have inspired and influenced the work of INQUEST. The first phase will facilitate ways to reflect on the lives of lost loved ones and ongoing struggles for truth, justice and accountability. Phase two is focused on how to remember, mark and communicate the profound action and change that has taken place. In the third phase, we will discuss our hopes for the next 40 years.
You are welcome to attend all of the events or drop-in on an ad-hoc basis.
